My father's side of the family is a bit of a mystery. I wish I knew more about them.
I do remember my father speaking of his brother and that he was an author. To use my father's words, my uncle wrote smut. I was always curious what that meant. Was it that he wrote with foul language or that the subject material was dirty or immoral?
Either way, I think I have become my uncle.

Depending on the time frame....like, say the 50's, I believe "smut" meant something the equivalent of Harlequin Romance novels.
I also wish I knew more about my Dad's side of the family. Rumor has it that one of my uncles was a brain surgeon and also a gambler. He supposedly owned an amusement park....and then subsequently lost it in a poker game!
Yes, I know it sounds like some made up story, but I have heard it repeatedly, all my life, from various different family members. Unfortunately, none of them have any more details that what I just commented above. But I do believe it to be true.
