Actually this is not true. 5 of my friends are boys and 3 of my friends are girls. 2 of my friends I am in love with (I know it's forbidden to be in love with two people) Yes, I am in love with one of my female friends and one of my male friends (I'm female) and another one of my male friends I just sometimes have little crushes on when I feel like it, though I'm not really interested in him. So, yeah, I have 3 friends of the opposite sex that I've never wanted to be more than friends with, as well as 2 friends of the same sex that I've never thought of as more than friends. Also, I think lots of people know that it is perfectly possible to have friends of the opposite gender :)

Wait a few years. It will be possible. In fact it might be your only option.
If "just friends" means "friends with benefits", then yes, absolutely.
If you are a gay, then it would probably also be possible.
